Located in the Southern most part of Nevada, this city was established in 1905 before the railroad opening, linking Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Las Vegas is known for the abundance of hotels and casinos that decorate the Las Vegas Strip and downtown area. The name Las Vegas is Spanish for "The Meadows" and was named by Rafael Rivera in 1829. This city is a mix of suburbia and urbanized areas, depending on where you find yourself in the city.

The total estimated number of people inhabiting Las Vegas during July, 2024 was a staggering 678,922. Although the city is predominantly White, Black people make up 11.9% of the population, 34.1% of the makeup are Hispanic, and 16.4% are Two or More Races. The median household income level of the City of Las Vegas stands at $73,784, which is 3.5% less than the median annual income of $76,364 across the entire state of Nevada.

In Las Vegas, summers are extremely hot, and winters are extremely cold, with it being dry and mostly clear year round. The hot season usually lasts for 104 degrees fahrenheit with a low of 80 degrees fahrenheit.
